DHS Secretary Speaks at 92nd Conference of Mayors

He promoted collaboration on security with hundreds of local leaders.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas spoke at the 92nd Winter Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors this week, highlighting the many ways his department works with local officials to address national issues. The secretary highlighted a number of situations the Department of Homeland Security recently resolved alongside local law enforcement and regional officials, including instances of labor trafficking, wildfire reconstruction, cyber attacks, and domestic terrorism.

“Our capabilities, our programs, and partnerships have evolved and expanded as well to meet this modern threat environment,” Secretary Mayorkas said at the conclusion of his speech. “In any and every form, our continued collaboration is fundamental to the security of our homeland and to our shared mission of safety, security, stability, and prosperity for all.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Mayorkas and DHS officials as they partner with state and local leaders and law enforcement.
  • For the president and members of his administration to wisely address the challenges to homeland security.
